We are having an open house at the stake center this weekend, with booths with all areas of the church being represented. The cubs and scouts from are
Ward are going to man the booths. I think it's probably because we have the best programs running in the stake. Maybe I'm just partial.HAHA MAybe we just rock
I am writing my testimony in one of the book of Mormons that they are giving out. It's been along time since I wrote mine down, hope it helps someone

Any disappointments?Ya!! fast sunday no dinner apt!! cheezeits i is. and 5 fetching peoples dogged us. i will be a pro at getting rejected when i get home!
Just remember that things happen in the lords time and not ours. We are studding about Joanna and how the people that he was sent to teach seamed
So wicked and unchangeable to him that he tryed to run from his calling. the lord knew that the people would change and even though Joanna didn't have the
Faith at the time his message was resieved.
I think that we all feel that way at times in our lives and at that time we re lie on faith and do what we our lead by the spirit to do.
We also have a dedication on the new building this Sunday and It's Ward confrence so it looks like It will be a busy week.
The time here seems like it is just fling by and things just seam to be falling into place. Hope that it's the same for you there.

This week was alright, we had alot of appointments cancel on us, But we where able to teack Richard Abo, He is progressing well. However he still has some concers about coming to church, i don't know what they are yet but i think that he is just unfamilier with latter day saint services. we also taught Brianna McCloud. She has a date set but does not want to leave her home cdecision.
We also had the oppertunity to teach Tina and Fred, She is less-active and he is interested in the church. we had a powerful lesson with them and he wants to become a better person, i can't wait to teach him about the clensing power of the atonement.
Elder Hawkins is only a few weeks away from taking off and he is working hard to stay focused, i Think the reality is becoming more and more apparent to him every day.
I Have been doing alot of study in the new testement and am finding some great stuff. the gospel is becoming more clear every day. I love studying the words of christ and am still memorizing alot of scriptures. My teaching is improving every day as i pray for charity and for boldness. My goals for this upcoming week are to more effectivly identify and resolve peoples concerns.

I am so glad things are going good for you guys. this week i have read the ensign allot and am loving it. I have also put alot of thought into what i want to be. i have been tossing around the idea of being a teacher. and came up Worth this plan. i get home in June and i will work and save money and write some music until Christmas and then i will go and get my generals done. if music doesn't work out then i will see what it takes to get into recording and production of music. those will all be elective classes. meanwhile i will get some teaching classes in and i will see what i like best. I know that i don't want to teach music, i want to teach a core subject. i have been putting alot of thought into teaching seminary! that would be super sweet. then i would be able to keep myself spiritually intact and be able to make a difference in peoples life's.

How was Bednar's visit? I bet it was great, what a cool guy.Ya it was awesome!! he is a realy cool an funny guy. he had a disscussion with us insted of lecturing.

We did the Stake open house as a missionary tool but I think it was kind of a dud. The missionaries did have a cool booth though with a video of the number of Stakes in
The church With a time line and a flashing light for each new stake formed for the beginning to now.

We had a ward conference yesterday and it was great, all about temple work so I'll work on getting your Mom there.GOOD JOB. ONCE SHE STARTS AGAIN IT WILL GET BETTER AND BETTER Looks like your getting cooler weather there, Its been warm here but the nights are getting better.YA ITS RAINING!!! I LOVE IT!!!

This week has Been Great, We are working really hard to help Elder Hawkins finish strong.
This week we taught Brianna McCloud, Trini Areola, and Richard Abo. Still not finding any apparent concerns, I think that Richard will open up when we are able to bring a Marshaleese brother with us.There is definitely a language barrier.
We were also able to teach the Johnson this week. They are a less active family in the ward. They struggle financially but we have promised them that by attending church they will find that things will work for there benefit.
Elder Hawkins, 7 days and counting. i can't believe it. I am Going to miss him so much. I know that he has served well and will be a great husband and father. i accredit everything that i may become as a missionary to the things he has taught me.....And the Spirit. he has helped me to develop effective study and teaching habits as well as establish a great pattern of obedience. I think that that is the primary role of a father. in the mission and outside.
I am doing so great, everything is starting to click, I have memorized about 25 scriptures in the past month and am getting better at teaching people not lessons, and recognizing the promptings of the Spirit.

How is everyone doing? We are doing good here in Nevada. I just got done looking a Skylars blog and it sounds like he is doing really good. I can't believe how much he is grown in the gospel. I even got teary eyed reading some of his letters. It is awesome to hear him always testifying and to see the love he has for the gospel and not only the gospel but for his family. As I read his letters I looked back to when he was 14 and I look at him now. What a GREAT man he has become. I am grateful to be a small part of his growing up and for the example that Skylar has set for his friends and not only his friends but also for Brother Mowers. Tell Skylar hi for me and tell him I am proud of him. Tell him to keep up the great work.

(we took care of this) i need to hit up the colombia store to get a real rain coat. i got one like the one at pamaroys from another missionary and they arnt made for real rain and sittin in it all day. i need an omnitech i think its about 100 bucks and i need to get a pair of regular shoes too. i tried to take the seay way out and get some cheap ones and they dont last... i am going to get somthing a little better this time thanks!!

This week we have had allot of appointments fall through. But we were able to teach Brianna Mccloud, who also attended church on Sunday, and had a great experience. She is receiving everything really well and i think that she will be ready for baptism on the 2nd of October. Bailey Tadlock is also progressing very well. He just has a really hard time getting involved because his parents arn't committed. Its so important that the parents are committed. I know that the lord set up families for those principals to be taught and the family need to be centered around the gospel.
We also began teaching a new sister named Patti who wants to get back into church but has some word of wisdom and doctrinal issues. But she has really opened up and showed us a desire to learn and as she does that i know that she will be taught by the spirit all that she needs to know.
Elder Bean is doing great. He expressed to me that he is excited to be in an area with a missionary who is ready to work. his goals are to listen to the Spirit more carefully and to not let laziness take over.
I am doing really good as well. i will miss Elder Hawkins but am excited to apply all the things he has taught me into my work. I know that without him around i will need to step up and focus even more. I am still memorizing allot of scriptures and trying to find ways to have more effective study. Thank you for all that you and Sis. Dychs do. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to better serve the mission.
Then we got worried because we hadn't heard from him on Monday...we've gotten a little spoiled with our regular e-mails

We are all well here and things are moving along. How are you on supplies? Is there any thing that you are dying for? NA I SAW THAT I GOT MONEY AND I WILL GET MY JACKET ANS SHOES SOON.
Well we are hot here and having close to record highs and it looks like that will be all week. NICE!! ITS BEEN A LITTLE AORMER THIS WEEK HERE AS WELL
Will had a nice reception with a 20s theme and they did a cut out of Kevin to put in the line. Pretty cool.
Cambria's back and going to school but she was at church yesterday.

Well this week wasn't what i expected it to be like. although i have been able to apply the things that Elder Hawkins has taught me i am having a difficult time getting situated with Elder Bean. We have 2 baptisms scheduled for this weekend. One with Brianna and another with Bailey Tadlock. They are doing great and all of their concerns seem to be resolved. Other than them we haven't had any investigators making any progress.
Collect the Elect Has brought forth allot of success lately! Yesterday was Fast Sunday and i was really depressed all week about not having anyone new to teach. But we recited a referral for a girl that has just been released from prison and wants to get her life strait, as well as a girl who is a fried of a member. She got up and bore her testimony about the church being an answer to her prayers and we will be teaching her this week!!
I think Elder Bean is trying to do better, he told me that his last couple transfers have been kind of hard. I told him to leave it behind and we will do great. He has some difficulties keeping the morning schedule and staying motivated and optimistic throughout the day but we are working on that. I now appreciate more than ever having a companion as obedient and hardworking as Elder Hawkins. He relay prepared me and taught me that it it better to be trusted than loved. and that there is no excuse for disobedience. I hope that i can find a way to help Elder Bean restore his fire. It takes 2 to Do the work.
I am doing Really good. I am Getting better at teaching and can feel the spirit is able to use me more and more. I know that as long as i am obedient and desire the welfare of souls and realize that i need to just get out of the way, we will have success in this area. Its funny that its not until hes gone that everything Elder Hawkins said starts making sense. Turns out that he really knew what he was talking about. I feel so sheepish. but i guess that i at times need to be compelled to be humbled. I will do better. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to better serve the mission.
We have some friends who's son is serving in Brazil....we FW his e-mails to Skylar....his reply was.....
Soulds like Kev is realy terrin in up down there!! im proud of him. i can atest to the mission changing everything. for the better. I am so glad to be serving. Im not gonna lie, hearing about the weding makes me a little trunky haha. but i am at home here. i don't even know what normal people do anymore. Remind me what the word "cool" means again. haha
But things are good.
